
Legislative Internship Opportunity

VanceMitchem Public Affairs offers interns a front-row seat to the Indiana legislative process, working alongside our team and state lawmakers inside the Statehouse. This paid role includes a daily, boots-on-the-ground, presence at the Statehouse, covering committee hearings, supporting the government relations team, and contributing to weekly VM publications.
Qualifications:

Self-motivated individual with a willingness to learn and adapt;

Familiarity with the Indiana legislative process, or a strong interest in learning it;

Strong research and writing skills, including the ability to summarize complex policy clearly;

Strong organizational skills and attention to detail;

Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
Responsibilities:

Provide detailed, accurate notes on legislative committees and session meetings;

Assist in researching and drafting client communications;
-
Conduct legal and policy research on Indiana Code and other relevant sources;

Maintain overall professionalism in all aspects of the role.
Duration: January - mid-March 2026 (The 2026 Indiana Legislative Session)
Schedule: Full-time, in-person weekday availability with limited remote flexibility.
Credit: Academic credit available for qualified students.
